Terms, refunds and privacy

What changed: section 4 — the $25 option is now any three overlays rather than all of them. If you bought it before this date, you keep everything it covered then, including overlays added since.

1 · What Donut Overlays is

Donut Overlays gives you live stream overlay games for Minecraft Donut SMP: an elimination board, a live auction, a money game and Last Call. You get a small program that runs on your own computer, plus a permanent web link you add as a browser source in TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS, Streamlabs or anything else that accepts one.

You can buy overlays outright with a single payment, or take a monthly subscription that covers all of them. Section 4 sets out exactly what each one gets you, and how long it lasts.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Mojang, Microsoft, Minecraft, Donut SMP, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube or OBS.

2 · Your account

• One account is for one streamer. Do not share your login or your overlay link.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Age. You must be 18 or older to subscribe. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to read these terms, agree to them, and be the one paying — it is their card and their agreement. Ticking the box says one of those is true.
• We can suspend an account that is being shared, resold, or used to break the law or another platform's rules.

3 · Free trial

The monthly subscription starts with 7 days free. You enter card details at the start so it can continue without interruption, but no money is taken during the trial.

We email you 3 days before the trial ends. If you cancel before the end date you are never charged. One free trial per account.

Buying an overlay outright has no trial — it is a single payment and you have it immediately.

4 · What you can buy, and how long it lasts

All prices are in US dollars. Other currencies shown on the site are approximate; Stripe charges in USD.

• $5 per month — every overlay. Covers all of them, including games we add later, for as long as the subscription runs. Starts with 7 days free.
• $12 once — one overlay. You pick which one at checkout. It is yours with no recurring payment and nothing to cancel.
• $25 once — any three overlays. You pick which three at checkout. Same terms as above. This does not include games added in future — those are covered by the subscription, or can be bought separately when they launch.

If you bought the $25 option before 16 September 2026, it covered every overlay that existed at the time, and it still does — including the ones we have added since and any we add in future. That is what you paid for and it is not changed by the option being sold differently now. Nothing on your account has been removed or needs doing.

What "forever" honestly means

An overlay you bought outright stays available to you for as long as Donut Overlays runs as a service. It is not a file you keep — the overlay is served from our end, which is what makes it work. We are not promising the site will exist forever, because nobody can promise that. What we do promise:

• We will never take away an overlay you have paid for while the service is running, whatever happens to any subscription on your account.
• We will never start charging you again for something you bought outright.
• If we ever shut the service down, we will give at least 90 days' notice by email to anyone who has bought an overlay outright.

Billing

• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• The subscription bills monthly, on the same date each month, until you cancel.
• If a subscription payment fails, Stripe retries. If it keeps failing, the overlays that only your subscription covers stop working until the payment goes through. Anything you bought outright is unaffected.
• If we change a price, it never changes what you already bought. A subscription price change comes with at least 30 days' notice by email and applies from your next renewal.

5 · Cancelling

Cancel the subscription any time from Manage plan on the site — no email required, no retention hoops.

When you cancel you keep the subscription's overlays until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that those stop working, but any overlay you bought outright carries on. Nothing is deleted: if you come back, your same link starts working again.

6 · Refunds

What you are entitled to

• Charged after you cancelled? Full refund, always.
• Charged by mistake, or twice? Full refund, always.
• Bought the wrong overlay? Tell us within 14 days and we will swap it for the one you meant, or refund it — your choice.
• Service broken on our side for more than 24 hours? For a subscription, a refund of that month or the month extended free. For something bought outright, a full refund if it is still within 14 days of your payment.

What we ask

Outside those cases, ask within 14 days of a payment and if you have barely used the overlays we will refund it. We would rather refund you than argue.

We do not usually refund a month you have streamed with, or an overlay you bought outright and have been using for a while, and we do not refund the free trial because it never cost you anything. If a refund on a subscription is refused you can always cancel so you are not charged again.

Refunds go back to the original card and normally arrive within 5–10 business days.

7 · What we expect from you

• Do not resell, rent out or redistribute the software or your overlay link.
• Do not take the software apart to make a competing product.
• Do not use the overlays to run anything illegal where you live, or anything that breaks the rules of the server or streaming platform you are on.

Games involving money. These overlays help you run in-game events with in-game currency. What you run, and whether it is allowed on your server and your streaming platform, is entirely your responsibility. Check the rules before you start.

8 · What you can expect from us

We aim to keep the service running all day, every day, but we do not promise it. Things that can interrupt it include hosting problems, your own internet, Minecraft or your streaming platform changing something, or planned maintenance.

The software is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost income, lost viewers, lost followers, or anything that happens during a stream. If we are found liable for something, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Events you run are yours. You decide what game you run, who can join, what they pay in, and what they get. If a viewer, a server, a platform or anyone else brings a claim against us because of an event you ran, you agree to cover our costs in dealing with it. We supply the scoreboard; the event is yours.

9 · Your data

What we keep

• Your email address, so you can log in and we can contact you.
• A scrambled version of your password (a bcrypt hash). We cannot read your actual password, which is why a reset link is the only way to recover an account.
• Your subscription status and dates, mirrored from Stripe, and a record of what you have bought — which overlays, when, and how much was charged.
• Your overlay settings — colours, text size, and any background image you upload.
• Your Minecraft username, if you put it in a review.
• A count of visits to this site. Your browser makes up a random id for itself and keeps it, which lets us count people rather than page loads. It says "same browser as before" and nothing else — no name, no location, no IP address, and it is not shared with anyone or used for advertising. If you are logged in when you visit, the visit is linked to your account.

What we do not keep

• Card numbers. Stripe handles payment, and we only ever receive a customer reference.
• Your Minecraft chat logs. The game reads them on your own computer; only the scoreboard state is sent up so your overlay link can show it.
• Anything else on your computer.

Who else sees it

Three companies, each only for the part they do: Stripe (payments), MongoDB Atlas (database hosting), Render (website hosting), and an email provider for the handful of emails listed below. We do not sell your data. There is no advertising on this site, and no third-party analytics or advertising trackers — the visit count described above is our own, stays on our own server, and goes nowhere else.

Emails we send

A welcome email when you sign up, a reminder 3 days before a trial ends, password reset links when you ask for one, and receipts from Stripe. No marketing emails.

Deleting your data

Email us and we will delete your account and everything attached to it within 30 days. Records of payments are kept longer where tax law requires it.

10 · Changes to these terms

If we change anything that affects you, we will email you before it takes effect, and you will be asked to agree to the new version the next time you open the site. Until you do, you can still log in and use what you are already paying for, but you cannot start or change a subscription. Small wording fixes just appear here with a new version at the top.

Your acceptance is stored against your account as a date and a version number. You can ask us what is on file for you at any time.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. This does not take away any rights you have as a consumer where you live.
